As you might have noticed, I have placed an ad from nuffnang on the sidebar, under the message box. I noticed It is very slow to load and I’m not sure whether it’s worth the time. Every blogs I’ve been to that have a nuffnang ad is slower to load. What do you think? Do you find it slowing down the loading time of your blog or is it just my broadband speed?

We see a lot of big billboards around us, especially in the central city area. Some catch our eyes and some don’t't. How often do you stop and have a look at these billboards? They are a form of advertising, yes, but some are oddly entertaining too. I love to look at billboards, to me, they are like huge colourful flyers around town. The cheeky ones especially catch my attention. To me, there’s no other platform that works as well in attention grabbing as billboards. Here are some random billboards around town that caught my fancies.
This is a series of billboards run by Tui, a local beer company with a wicked sense of humour. The advertising campaign has been running for a while now. The idea is to produce a series of cheeky lines based on current events, with their tag line, yeah right. It changes every few weeks, and sometimes in a few days if there’s a hot topic running. You can even submit your ‘yeah rights’ on their website and if they like the idea, they’ll put it on a billboard! Isn’t that cool?!
This was a hot topic earlier this year when the Auckland city council proposed a ridiculous idea to ban all billboards in town. The reason? Apparently they affect the beautiful city skyline. They even compared Auckland to Paris, because Paris has no billboards. WTH? What skyline? They approved the ugly shoe-box apartments that are scattered around the city centre, but think the billboards are eyesores?! Also, compared Auckland to Paris?! GOD! Do these people have eyes? There are some smart asses in the council I tell you, those eat too full got nothing to doer. This billboard said it all really.

p/s: sorry about the photo quality, it was taken from a moving car.
Auckland Fullers ferry got a lot of bad press because of this incident. Back in February, the ferry company left about 80 passenger stranded on Waiheke Island because the last ferry didn’t have enough seats to accommodate them. Apparently, the skipper refused to make an extra trip even when told to do so by the duty manager. He asked them to go fly kites (OK, I added this part). So the 80+ people were forced to stay on the Island for the night. Go figure!

Alternative advertisement. Haha.

Hey, someone stop the crazy driver driving up the wall!
This one is my favourite, it is actualy a model midi of actual size!
I have a thing about the thrills and frills of home decoration. Being so particular about house-deco can be a pain sometimes, because it is pretty hard to get the right accessories. Like my cabinets, I find it hard to match the different handles and knobs down to the matching details. That is until I found All Cabinet Parts. They offer many different cabinet hardware, from cabinet knobs to hinges, and drawer handles. No matter what you are looking to match, be it contemporary or traditional styles, you name it and they have it! They even have variety of beautiful hand-carved wood mouldings for that extra finishing touch. I am having fun looking through their selections. There bound to be something you need to complete the look for your deco!

For those of you who have to sit in front of the computer all day long, you’d know how important a good computer chair is. It practically can make or break you. OK, maybe not that dramatic, but well, it is very important. To me, a good computer chair is essential, as I am glued to the computer every possible moment. In the weekends, you can expect me to zoom right to the computer from the moment I wake up till I go to sleep. Only pry myself from it during meal times and toilet breaks. Yes, I can be that crazy. So you see the point for me to have a good computer chair.
When my old chair broke after 4 years of faithful service, MR K and I decided to get a better quality chair. Of course, within a reasonable price range. We searched high and low and finally found the perfect one at an office furniture store. They sell all sorts of chairs, with arm, armless, mesh, fabric, leather, you name it, and they have it. I think I sat on the most chairs in my life during the choosing process. Browsed until my head also pening (spinning) already. We literally spent hours in there sitting on different chairs. Haha.
Anyway, after hours of trying, we finally narrowed down to this spectacular chair Genesis by Ergoform. The moment I sat on it, I know it is the one. Apparently it is an ergonomic chair that is built to follow the shape of your body and provides maximum support for long hours of sitting and comes with a 10 year warranty. Of course, good things all come with a price tag. 3 hours and NZ$700+ lesser later, we were done. Who knows buying a computer chair can also be so complicated. I don’t care much for the descriptions, I just want a comfy chair to sit on and don’t feel sore on my buttocks after a few hours. That’s it.
So, there you have it, my chair story. ;P

I know it’s no Herman Miller, but still, very comfortable. In fashionable orange micro-suede too.
p/s: Special thanks to my sponsor MR ATM.

Watch this video and tell me if you don’t want to punch the bitch in the face.
As you know Jordin Sparks has just won the title of American Idol. And there went some ridiculous woman calling her obese and criticised her for portraying an unhealthy image to others?! While I would say she is not exactly thin, but there is no way she is obese! She looks perfectly fine and beautiful to me! I mean get down on your high horse and stop using the ‘health awareness’ as your mask, crazy woman. If you ask me, she is just bitter. Trying to justify her stick thin body by labeling people with a few extra pounds obese and unhealthy. Lady, thin does not equal healthy you know?! It is people like that who is causing some teenagers to hide in the bathroom and vomit her guts out right this second.

This is a huge billboard in downtown Auckland. As you know New Zealand is a rugby-mad nation, housing the world number one All Blacks. So it is no surprise that the kiwis are all excitingly anticipating to the counting down of Rugby World Cup 2007 (photo taken in January 2007). The billboard you see here has been there since last year, counting down the minutes to the first game of RWC at France in September. The RWC comes every 4 years, and guess what? Auckland, New Zealand has been chosen to host the next RWC, in 2011! Imagine what buzz it’d bring then. The nation already cannot wait!
