MR K brought home some yummy goodies from work yesterday. Or so it seemed. That usually has me jumping up and down in joy (being the glutton that I am). He brings home biscuits, chocolates and the likes from time to time. These goodies normally come from clients of the company he works for.
Now, who doesn’t like freebies, you tell me. But beware, as the saying goes, good things come with a price tag and free things are usually not good. This is no exception. The boxes of so called “Gourmet Sticks” are all well passed their expiration date last year!!! To think of the generosity the client has! Apparently they had sent cartons of these goodies to my husband’s office. Oh, I am enraged! Hello?! Do we have the words ‘rubbish disposer’ engraved on our foreheads?! Do they take K’s office as a huge rubbish bin to dispose of their expired goods?! I mean come on, don’t try to act like you’re generous by showering others with some expired products, that only show what a cheapskate you are! Shocking, I tell you.

There are indeed all sorts of people in this world. Some are really baffling just like these people you mentioned. Lets just hope that its a simple misunderstanding and that they didnt do it on purpose and had not realized the expiration dates on the boxes. Cos they are some people I know who couldnt care less to check the dates before purchasing it. Then again, should the act be intentionally, then these people are just acting plain callous.

You’re right, it takes all sorts! It is definitely not a misunderstanding, as it has happened before! They know what they’re doing for sure. The goods from them are either few days to expiry dates or expired.

Free things are not good…fully agreed on that. I have receive many hampers from clients during the recent Chinese New Year. In one of the hampers, all the can products have not expired but with a life span of 1-2 months. Would u believe it? In fact one of the can exploded in my pantry. It’s not even expired yet. Imagine having the hard time clearing up the mess. That’s a headache.

Oh my, then they are really such a cheapo! What cheek they have to pull such a thing. Tsk tsk tsk. No wonder you felt like a dumpster lah. Worst thing is, you can’t even shove it back at their face cos’ can’t offend them as they are client. This sulk. Indeed it is terrible.

Yes, those things they put in hampers are normally close to expiry date! That’s why I really don’t think hampers are good idea, they are so impersonal. EXPLODED??! That’s shocking! I hope you didn’t get hurt!
Kleio
Tell me about it.
