Long time no see

It’s been awhile, I know.
What have I done, you asked. Well, let me count the days.

Holidays spent.
The Professionals Christmas Lights Spectacular 2007 Angel and snowman made out of wire Various inflatable santa claus displays Santa snow cave, with foam snow coming out every hour! The Professionals Christmas Lights Spectacular 2007 Santa claus is coming to town.
One of the participating houses that is located by Bucklands Beach The Professionals Christmas Lights Spectacular 2007 The Professionals Christmas Lights Spectacular 2007 Painting of Birth of Jesus on the wall, now that is spectacular!
We went around Auckland suburbs to look at houses that participated in the annual Christmas Lights Spectacular contest in December 2007. There are some amazing displays every year! These people spent months and months planning for the competition to keep the Christmas spirit up! The lightings are usually up for over a month and you’d see people queuing outside with kids getting candies from the host. Very festive indeed!

Family rejoiced.
Dad&Mum's 30th wedding anniversary Parnell rose garden
Both my parents and in-laws visited from November 2007 through to January 2008. We had a delightful time enjoying the company of our parents. What magical times!

Places revisited.
Christchurch Cathedral Christmas Carol Service in Christchurch Cathedral, 2008 Christchurch Tramway
We took a trip to the beautiful garden city Christchurch again in November 2007. The serenity of the Cathedral never seizes to amaze me. Since we’re already in the area, someone proposed to go to the nearby small town of Kaikoura, which is famous for whale watching. Did we see any whales you ask. Well, let’s just say at the end of the day, there were 4 very seasick people and leave it at that. Heh.

Dream concert realised.
Vector Arena, multi-purpose indoor stadium in Auckland City The long-awaited Jacky Cheung concert on 9 January 2008 What a spectacular show!
On 9 Jan 2008, Auckland witnessed the powerhouse of the Asian superstar, Jacky Cheung. After a logistical delay, we finally got to enjoy what could only be described as the sound of an angel. It was a dream come true for me as I’ve always wanted to go to his concert after having grown up listening to his songs. It was totally mind-boggling and heart-warming. We were simply overwhelmed. A great night to remember.

Places visited.
Taipei, part of our 11-days Taiwan trip during Chinese New Year 2008 The famous Taipei 101 Chinese New Year dinner in Taipei The Tamsui delicacy, 'Iron egg'
Mr K and I visited Taiwan for the first time in February 2008 and spent 11 days in Tainan, Hualian and Taipei. We celebrated Chinese New Year there with my parents for the first time in about 7 years. It was a great trip filled with little surprises. I’ll write about the trip in a separate post.

Festival celebrated.
Chinese New Year lion dance 2008 Royal Easter Show 2008, Auckland ASB Showground
