Darkness can bring out the tenacity in us.

Everytime right after we turn off the lights, it becomes pitch-black. But after our eyes get used to the darkness, the outlines of our surroundings become clear. The same principle applies in our lives.

Whenever I feel afraid, I try to think of the people I care and love…. and it would make me feel warmer and safer inside :)

CC: You’re right, those we love and care about are the ones who can pull us through the difficult times.

I thing everyone is afraid of the dark. Unless we have “night vision”, the dark will totally cripple us. And I must admit that I don’t like it when it’s dark. It is as if you are blind and you can only rely on your other senses. My salute(s)to those who are blind. They have some how conquer this fear. So seriously, are you guys afraid of the dark?

CC: Others sense become heighten when we can’t see. It can be pretty empowering. That being said, I do have tremendous respect for those who live in the dark.

I think I’m not. There’s something exciting about it..coz if you wait long enough, your eyes will capture enough light for you to see clearer..and enjoy even the dimmest vision.

CC: That can be very exciting!! :D

    Answer:
    “Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
    Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
    Still remains
    Within the sound of silence…”

CC: Ah, the sounds of silences, the greatest of all.

I can only sleep in the dark…hence I love the dark :-)

CC: I’m adapting to sleep in total darkness nowadays, used to have a little night light, but I heard total darkness is supposedly better for our body.

Why do shadows always loom larger in the dark and fears magnified tenfold. Darkness always brings greater urgency to issues soon dispelled with the approaching morning light; our fears are quelled & evaporated which seemed opaque & solid just the night before.

I love your series of pics on light & darkness CC, great display of technique.

CC: Nicely written. Thanks Daryl, I enjoyed taking the photos too.

Is that a wall or ceiling light? Cos I’m pretty sure it’s not a UFO. LOL.

Darkness is good because without darkness we won’t appreciate light. And when I sleep, I like to be in complete darkness. No table lamp and no streetlamp shining through the window. Unless of course if I’m staying in hotel, I prefer the bathroom light to be on just as a precaution…

CC: Definitely not a UFO, it’s a glass tealite holder on my coffee table. ;)

There’s more beauty in simplicity than in complexity; just like silence is much more meaningful than noise. Sometimes we need to halt for a while, to know where we are running to.
