It was the perfect way to start the day. I woke up to a knock on my front door.
A box of delights was sent from afar, by an angel who’s close to my heart.
It is little delight like this that makes life beautiful.
What was the delight that made your day?

ParisB tagged me on this interesting meme over a week ago (see, told you I’m a terrible procrastinator!). Somehow, the word worm sends a chill down my spine, but I am indeed one when it comes to books. Here goes.

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
Coming from a house of worms (so to speak, heh!), reading has played a big part in my life since, well, as long as I can remember. Books are the one thing in our house that is more populated than anything else. One of my fondest memories of childhood is my parents reading me one fairytale story after another. My father’s animated gestures that accompanied his story-telling are still vividly etched in my mind. Great times!

What are some books you read as a child?
Coming from a Chinese educated background, the books that I read in my early age are mostly in Chinese, with a few Enid Blyton’s books in between. Most of the books I read are about popular Chinese folktales. I also read a lot of China’s history and Chinese literature. Among the mountains of books are stories from the book One Thousand and One Nights as well. I guess that’s where I developed my vivid imaginations.

What is your favourite genre?
My favourite genres span across thriller, horror, Chinese literature, comedy and true crime(!!) just to name a few. From the likes of Stephen King to Sophie Kinsella. I love them all. No fantasy books though, I’m one of the rare people who doesn’t enjoy the Harry Potter series at all.

Do you have a favourite novel?
Without a doubt, The “Torrents” Trilogy《激流三部曲》from the great Chinese writer Ba Jin 巴金. the trilogy consists of ‘The Family《家》’, ‘Spring 春》’, and ‘Autumn《秋》’. I first read them back in high school as a requirement for my Chinese subject. The first volume ‘The Family’ is simply one of the best realism literature of all times. The series greatly depicted the struggles of the modern youth against the age old dominance of the incredibly feudal Confucian family system back in the 1930s. Ba Jin took over ten years to complete the three volumes. It is the early years of his life that fueled his denouncement against the ugly persecution and feudalism happening in that era. The trilogy totally blew my mind away and formed the fundamental core of my love for Chinese literature. For me, it will always be the great literature to read time and again. It is also one of the very few books that reaches deep into my heart and vibrates my world.

click photo to enlarge.

Where do you usually read?
Anywhere really. On the bus, plane, couch or in bed.

When do you usually read?
When I’m free of course, normally in the dead silence of night time or a relaxing afternoon.

Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?
Sometimes, when I want a change of pace or emotion, I will stop and pick up a book of different genre. It rarely happens though, I like to finish a book in one go if possible.

Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?
Not particularly. Only when I read nonfiction, I sometimes do some research online as well, to get a little more insight into the stories.

Do you buy most of the books you read, or borrow them, or check them out of the library?
I am a little germophobic, so not really into borrowing books from the library. When I love a book, I just have to own it.

Do you keep most of the books you buy? If not, what do you do with them?
If it turns out not to my liking then yes, I sell them online.

If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them? Were they some of the same ones you read as a child?
No kids yet, but I will most definitely instill in them my love for Chinese folktales and literature. Especially those I read as a child.

click photo to enlarge.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading some of the books that I bought from my Taiwan trip back in February. I bought one whole box of them! LOL. Amongst them are series of books from 鄭華娟, the Taiwanese author cum singer/composer. She writes about her life in Germany with humour. Also re-reading Stephen King’s Carrie. This early creation of his is still my favourite.

Do you keep a TBR (to be read) list?
Not really, which book I read really depends on my mood at the time. I keep a TBB (to be bought) list though. Heh.

What’s next?
Finish reading the books I bought from the Taiwan trip, over 20 of them.

What books would you like to reread?
If I have the time, some of the Stephen King’s classic, like The Shining. If you found the movie adaption creepy, wait till you read the book!

Who are your favourite authors?
So many of them! Ba Jin 巴金, Lu Xun 魯迅, Zhu Ziqing 朱自清, 鄭華娟, Stephen King, Sophie Kinsella, just to name a few.

In conclusion (eh, am I writing a thesis?!), books are a huge and crucial part of my life. Can’t live without them! So, what do you think? Wormy or not?

Now, I’m interested to know about your reading habit,
sasha, che-cheh, zewt, gina and jeremy. Have fun!

Yes, we finally succumbed to the temptation and now have unlimited access to discover and gain historical knowledge or learn to be dramatic. Evil has one word, SKYtv. Now I’ve fallen down into the dark hole of addiction. Will be back as soon as I watch my favourite show on Discovery channel over and over and over again.

<img title="Aha!
As for the topic that is on everybody’s mind now, petrol hike. YES it’s pretty much the same over here, albeit not up 40% at one go, but gradually. Like 6 cents in 2 days for the latest increase. If I remembered correctly, it was about $1.30 per litre for regular unleaded around this time last year. Someone raised the possibility that it might go up to $2 per litre back then, but most people just brushed it off. Now, the price has peaked at $2.12 per litre and the thought of $3 per litre is becoming so horrifyingly real. A lot of secondhand car dealerships have already taken the hit and closed down in the past few months.

Don’t even get me started on food prices. A research done by NZ Herald in April showed that food prices have upped 28% in the last year and is continuing to soar. Although NZ is a agriculture-based country, the prices of dairy products have surprisingly shot through the sky, with cheese up 45.5 per cent, milk up 21.1 per cent, bread up 13.1 per cent and butter up by a gob smacking 86 per cent, all in one year! By the by, all these prices seem to be on their goal-setting road of soaring to new heights. There you have it, my rant of reality. Now let me go curl up in my blanket in my cold unheated room, as the cost of power has gone up as well. ARG!

Like any weekday afternoon, I logged on to the local newspaper website for my dose of current events, while a news piece caught my eyes. It’s a photo article that’s placed in the middle of the front page. In gist, the Labour party Budget pamphlet features a happy family photo. The people in the photo are actually Americans, instead of Kiwis. Yup, it’s a stock photo purchased from iStockphoto, and some nitpicking blogger caught it out and called the newspaper because ‘it’s not kiwis’.

Well, I don’t know about you, but what’s the big deal here? So what if the Labour party spent about 10 or 20 NZ$ to purchase stock photo to use in their Budget pamphlet; So what if the family in the photo is actually American instead of Kiwi?! Big freaking deal! It’s an advertising campaign for pete’s sake! They certainly looked kiwis(and not only I said so).The photo is purely there to act as a portrait. No harm done, no law broken! Most people can’t even tell! Yet some people are making such big deal out of it! Seriously folks, do you really go through all the pamphlets and flyers to scrutinize every single stock photo for originality and authenticity? Some people just have too much time on their hands! I love New Zealand, but every so often, little things get blown out of proportion here. Some trivialized news like this is simply not worth a place in a prominent newspaper, much less on the front page. Yet there you have someone jumping up and down shouting blue murder! As one commentator simply put it, ‘The only embarrassing thing about this is the fact that it’s seen as a newsworthy story here in NZ. Get over it, get a life and move on, it’s a photo for christ’s sake!’

On the side note: Here’s a question. Do you really think every single advertising, say holiday promotion uses the exact photos taken in the said destination? Newsflash! All advertising agencies use stock images, and they choose the ones that suit the champaign best. Most of the time, they are not the same place! It’s all make believe! The most suitable pictures that depict the product in question are always chosen. Photos, so often are just a tool to give people a sense of what the company is marketing. Agencies use whatever that is most relatable and most eye-catching to promote their products. Why do you think Celcom used Leehom as their endorser? He’s not Malaysian and surely is not using Celcom network, but the campaign caught our eyes and it’s a success!

My cellphone repeatedly rang from an unknown number today. I didn’t answer it, as I don’t normally answer phone calls from unknown numbers. Out of curiosity I googled the Australian number and found out that numerous people from different countries have actually received phone calls from the same number! Apparently it’s one of those calls where they tell you you’ve won a prize and then try to get some personal info out of you. Basically, it’s some kind of scamming scheme. They seem to get our numbers from one of those draw-for-a-car competitions that are often set up in malls. So, be cautious before entering into those contests next time.

Photo: Phil Carrick

Lately there are just so many similar scams going on, where they use big monetary rewards to lure people on. I also found out that there’s a kind of scam that miss call people. If consumers ring back, they are directed to a premium rate number for a prize. They’d be charged for the call and promised prizes that will never arrive. A good judgment of common sense is required here. My motto is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So if you ever receive one of these calls and the caller asked for money before you can get your reward, that should be your cue to end the call. Or you can get creative and pull a kennysia. Heh.

By the way, I also found this very useful website called WhoCalledMe where you can search unknown numbers and submit any scam or crank calls information there to share with others.

Have you received these kinds of calls before? Do share!

What have I been up to? Well, I’ve been bitten by the home redecoration bug, so have been spending every free moment, redecorating around the house. Did I mention I love home deco? I do! Most people dread moving house, all the packaging and the cleaning chores drive them crazy. Well, not me. I love packing and cleaning, I see it as a chance to rediscover the bits and pieces that have been packed away and forgotten. It’s also a great chance to decorate another new place! What more can a girl ask for?! Oh, I’m so growing into a neat freak. It’s hard to believe this is a girl who couldn’t even manage to keep her bedroom floor free from clutter growing up. Really, when I was a teenager, my bedroom floor was literally covered by everything imaginable. My dad even threaten to publish the photo he took, to no avail of course. Ha. My parents must be so proud now, they must not in their wildest dream have thought that their little girl would grow up to be a neat freak today. So parents out that, there’s no need to sweat over your teenagers’ messy rooms, all hope is not lost. Heh.

I love the old country look in home deco. Spent countless hours online and offline hunting for that aged pieces with a story behind it. I love to look at that light scratch or worn part of the furniture, they tell a story and add much character to them. A clean freak who loves old pieces, can you imagine how much cleaning go into each piece before it’s deemed usable again?! Here I share bit and pieces of my humble abode, a place I can feel totally relax and at ease; a place filled with love and joy.

I was chatting with Kok yesterday, and he was saying he wasn’t sure on the brand of shampoo he uses, which reminds me of a conversation between me and Mr K some time ago.

It was a weekend, Mr K and I were talking about getting a new mac pro. So off he went, going on and on about the amazing specs of the great machine in fine detail. During which I was nodding my head but automatically shutting down my brain and drifting somewhere else.

Mr K *Blah….blah… blah something about ram…..blah*
CC *waiting for the right time to interrupt*
Mr K Blah….but you should know they also added this new feature….blah….
CC *thinking* lalala…..good machine, I get it.
Mr K *went on for another half an hour* blah…..so you see it’s a totally great buy.
CC *whew. finally*OK, get it then. Now, can you please go get this lip balm for me? I really need it urgently. The brand is XXX brand, XXX range. *very short name*
Mr K Huh? What is it? Aiyo, my brain don’t have space for that info, can you please write it down? *continue to blah on geek language*
CC *dumbfounded and scribbled down the whole 5 characters of the said product*

While I’m on the subject, here’s a funny and creative insight into how different men and women perceive the same occasion. (Read the Girl’s Diary first)

I’m owing an ocean of tags, so will try and do a tag marathon and clear them all this few days. Sorry for taking so long ya!

Here’s one, tagged by KC ages ago.

8 random facts and habits.

I love to tidy up and decorate my home. A tidy and well-organised house gives a sense of order I need to keep me sane.

I was bitten by a dog when I was 11. The incident left a small faint scar on my upper thigh.

I love horror, triller, crime genres in movies, tv series and books. Anything dark, including dark comedies. My favourite of all time is Six Feet Under. It’s the only series that truly touches my heart and in my opinion, showcased the best moments on TV.

I have an ultra-active mind, and although I’m sharing and warm in nature, I don’t share all my thoughts with others and doesn’t show my sorrow easily.

I don’t enjoy clubbing that much. I enjoy staying at home more when I’m free.

I can get pretty paranoid about things.

I love eggs with all my passion. (ever since I was a baby according to my mum.)

I hate it when people eat potato chips in cinema, or make any noises for that matter. I feel an uncontrollably urge to strangle those who do. I think they should be heavily punished and banned from the cinema, forever.

OK, I know I’m supposed to tag 8 people, but I’m pretty sure most people have done this one, so I’m not going to tag anyone this time.

The funny ways people came to my blog via search engine.

From time to time, I check my sitemeter to see how people come to my site. And I found some unexpectedly funny ways. There are some who come to my blog via search engines. I noticed since I installed the all-in-one SEO plugin, that has improved a bit. Anyway, my site appeared in the normal keyword search like melody, friend, life etc, but there are some funny keywords that led people here too. The following 2 took the cake, look!

There were 2 people who came to my blog when they did the search for and ‘to mate wth a woman‘ and get this, ‘blogger with c cup breasts‘!! I almost fell from my chair when I saw that! Especially for the second one, ‘blogger with c cup breasts‘, I mean seriously?!! Apparently my blog came up for these searches as well. I think the 2 reasons that led to that were the bra-fitting article (with the word c cup on it I think), and the fact that I have a category called ‘WTH‘ (stands for what the heck?!), LOL. Well, sorry to disappoint those 2 confused souls ya. I think they must have left my site cursing because they didn’t get to see c cup blogger photos or info about mating with women. Heh. Sorry mates!

Mr K, the saint of my life.

Mr K is a saint. This fact is normally a talking piece amongst some of my friends and family. Some for the love of god cannot understand how a saint like him married a siao (crazy) person like me. Well, go figure! Neither can I! That guy is the father of all saints I tell you. Nothing gets him angry at all, nothing! I have not seen him loose his temper once, not once in the 7 plus years I’ve come to know and love him. He can stay calm under any circumstances. Scolded? One ear in, one ear out lor; Blamed for something he didn’t do? Ignore it lor, cannot do anything what; Someone being rude at him? Aiya, no need to pay attention to those people one; Fire? Evacuate lor. Just to name a few.

He is the first and only person in my life that does not have a temper, at all. I mean, nothing zero, nada, zip! It really intrigued me in the beginning. The evil me even intentionally tried to make him mad from time to time, just to prove that everybody gets mad sometimes. But no! That is just not in his genes. The few times he tried to pretend ended in laughters. When asked why he doesn’t get worked up at all, I mean doesn’t he get angry or has the urge to throw something sometimes? His answer: Erm…. don’t know ler, I don’t know how to do that.

If you ever tried to picked a fight with someone, you’d know it’s no fun trying to pick a fight with a saint. You can’t get anything out of him. That’s why in our relationship, I am the evil one who’s always making trouble. Or, maybe being a saint is his devilish plan to entice others! Ever thought of that? Huh? Huh?! (stop it cc, just let it go!) Saint people make others go crazy. Heh. Ironic.

Another failed attempt to make him look bad. Damn it!

Though all is said, I feel extremely lucky and thank my lucky star everyday for him. Where to find another guy like him, who loves me and spoils me as much as he does?! After all, he is the rock that binds me on my feet so this siao woman doesn’t go too crazy. As my father once said when I first went out with MR K seven years ago.

He’s your perfect match, my princess. You won’t find another guy who can stay saint living with you!

So evil, but he’s right…again!

Tagged by Jenny to write about 6 weird things about me. Well, let’s see, are there any weird things about me? I shall count the ways…

I don’t eat tomato, especially the raw ones. The few times I tried ended in projectile vomiting. I like tomato sauce though.

I am superstitious about numbers. I try to avoid 4s and always try to get 8s.

I go straight to my computer first thing in the morning, and can sit there for hours straight before doing anything else for the day.

I love rainy days even though gloomy weather makes me feel blue.

I am more afraid of the small bugs than the big ones. Big ones I can see, but the small ones, you never know where they’ll get to. That very thought creeps me out.

I have a mild case of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder. There’s certain little routine in my mind that I do when there’s no one’s around.

Now that you know I’m a weirdo, don’t get in my way or I’ll weird you out! Heh.

OK, I would like to geh po the weird things about the following 5 lucky people.

The many things I used to collect in my teenage years.

It’s been raining every day lately, cold and wet winter days, makes me want to snuggle in my warm bed and do nothing all day. I always feel nostalgic in gloomy weather, thinking of the sound of heavy rain drops on the roof when I was a kid. Sweet memories.

In a nostalgic mood lately. I was chatting with Davin (who writes about his new life in Canada, with lots of interesting photos) over MSN and we started talking about our childhood and the things we used to collect in those years. Why someone so young is so nostalgic, I wonder? Maybe he has an old soul? Just joking Davin. (Eh, did I just imply that I’m old? NO! I’m youthful, I’m full of youth!)

Anyway, I digressed. As a young teenager, I used to collect a lot of things. From the usual stamps, first day covers, erasers, stickers to the unusual tissue paper wrapper. Major head-scratching moment on the last one. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s those wrappers from small individual packaged tissue paper packs. Haha, lidat also want to collect. But you’d be amazed the various designs they used to produced back then. Not sure whether they still do, haven’t used those tissue packs for a long time. My collection was up to the hundred mark I think. I collected them from my friends and family, then flatten them in between pages of heavy books. It was quite a ‘in’ thing to do amongst the girls then.

Of course, let’s not forget about the ever-so-popular stamps and first day covers. I spent many years in my childhood collecting them. Well, I’m sure many have. Though towards the end it was not so much of me collecting but my mom. Heh. All these collections are neatly kept in stamp books and first day cover holders, and kept in a big box back at home now. I call it a box of memories. Along with the stamps and first day covers, are books of stickers, diary(heh, girly talks), some souvenirs, yearbooks, old address books, photos, letters and postcards. Every time I go back, I would open the box and look through its contents for hours, reminiscing the old days. Every single item in there represents a feeling, a momentous, a story, a part of me. They remind me the different facets of my life that I’ve been through.

Ever since I come to New Zealand, I’ve been keeping a box too. Inside, there are letters, postcards, dried leaves(yes, I collected those), dairy, photos and more letters. I used to write a lot when I first came here, when I was a lonely student with some language barrier. Not anymore, since I made new friends and abandoned those back home. Haha, joking! Everybody just became lazy and stopped writing eventually. Well, we still do every now and then. Just not the mountainous volume that was back then.

I treasure these boxes of memories dearly. For I imagine to pass them to my children one day, maybe many years down the road, when I have become an old lady. To let them know of my days and thoughts. To serve as some sort of memoir, a mark of my existence.

Memories, good and bad, all be treasured, all be buried in the deepest of my heart.

Reading what the crazies' been up to make me realised how normal and good my life is and be thankful for that.

I have an confession to make. When I am bored out of my mind, I read tabloids, magazines, or anything that has juicy gossips in it. Yes, I enjoy them very much, and strangely enough, I find a sense of serenity by reading these news that some deemed to be useless and a waste of time. I guess they give me a few moments to escape from the reality, which I need from time to time. Or maybe reading what the crazies’ been up to make me realised how normal and good my life is and be thankful for that. What crazies? I don’t know, maybe this, this and this. I love juicy gossips, please send more my way!

Our beloved prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi is set to marry his new bride Jeanne Abdullah on Saturday 9 June 2007 at his private residence. I supposed most of you should have read this by now. Apparently the media has been prohibited on digging up background information about the new bride. Maybe it has something to do with her being the sister-in-law of Abdullah’s late wife Datin Seri Endon Mahmood? Yes, Jeanne Abdullah was previously married to Osman Mahmud, Datin Endon’s brother. That might have made the situation a bit harsh-harsh, but love knows no boundaries right?

Does this come as a shock to some? I guess, but set everything aside, wedding is a happy occasion and here’s my best wishes to Pak Lah and his new bride. I remember Lee Kuan-Yew once said in an interview, a man of heavy responsibilities should has a woman behind him as a pillar for support. So, here’s to Pak Lah, may he find new life and strength with his new bride Jeanne.

Here’s a photo of the bride, Jeanne Abdullah.

A funny incident that happened during our trip to Melbourne. My husband was locked in a cafe toilet! With funny video clip.

I came cross this post over at Whatever that reminds me of a similar incident during our tour in Melbourne with my parents. We were on the way to Great Ocean Road, and made a toilet stop at a small cafe. As usual, we took our turn to go to the 2 toilets at the back. I found the lock to be a bit loose and hard to unlock, but didn’t think any of it. So there we were, me and my parents sitting in front having a cup of tea in relaxing mood when suddenly we heard some banging sound coming from the back. So we followed the sound. ‘Help me! I can’t get the door to open!’. There was MR K being locked inside the toilet! WAHAHAHA! I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have laugh out loud as much as I did. (wahaha). ‘But did you turn the hook? Just turn it!’ Oh the ever so helpful wife was enthusiastically giving some useful instruction as usual, but to no avail, he tried for a good 10 minutes and the lock would not budge. We came to the concussion that he had to spend the rest of his night there and promptly left. The end.

Haha, lame joke attempt. Of course we didn’t. By then the owner of the cafe noticed the few strange Asians crowding in front of the toilet and came to check. He was really embarrassed when he found out his trap of a toilet is holding a hostage inside. He too, attempted to help by giving the same instruction, but how many ways can one turn a toilet knob? It is either turning clock wise or anti-clock wise. So he went and took out his tool box and attempted to <s>do some serious damage</s> take out the lock. Still the toilet decided it is longing for company and decided to hold the hostage longer. By now, we were all in hysterical laughters, with someone holding the camera frantically making the moment a piece of trivia material. All while MR K was sweating it out inside in total darkness, also in hysterical laughter. Why in total darkness? Because the toilet apparently had a time sensitive light switch to reserve electricity, so it went off after a few minutes. Haha.

Finally, the cafe assistance came to the rescue and tried to safe the day by flinging his body against the door to force it open. You’d think the door will just bang open, but no! Kicking at it didn’t help either. That was one tough door I tell you! At the end, it was the combination of banging, hammering and prying with screwdriver that finally did the trick. MR K was finally free!! It was certainly the ‘highlight‘ of our trip. Now every time we talked about the trip, someone will inevitably say ‘remember the time when MR K was locked in the toilet?’ then burst out laughing. Wait, that’s not all, there’s a video clip to saviour the previous memory over and over again, in years to come. Heh! *queued evil laughters*

I am hopeless when it comes to supermarket and cleaning, my obsessions are growing.

I think I have a terrible obsession. Just between you and me I would like to confess. It is getting out of hand, and possibly going to damage the trust between me and MR K.

Nah, just kidding, about the trust part. I do have an obsession though. If the few of you recalled, I mentioned in one of my earlier post, I am hopeless when it comes to supermarkets. I love to go to supermarkets, I can stay put at the aisle of cleaning products and look at them one by one for a long time. There is no such thing as a quick grab-and-go in my book. So after a few costly mistakes (letting me lure around for too long and ending up with a few too many cleaning products in the trolley), MR K grew smarter and rarely let me tag along anymore. Or if he does, we zoom pass the aisle. Haha.

Nothing can stop the cleaning monster in the crazy lady though, I still manage to grab a bottle here and here. And we still end up with many cleaners, detergents, magic dusters, cleaning foams and such at home. Hey, they are all put into good use ok. My philosophy is, you can’t have too many cleaning agents at home. As to MR K, he has given up, because he figured more cleaning products = clean house = happy wife. And nothing bids a happy wife at home (taken straight from the horse’s mouth). So the cleaning monster gets to continue her saga. If you would pardon me, I will go and admire my collection right now.

Have you ever splashed water on your face and took a deep breath at the same time ? No? Just me? OK then.
Dummy here just did that half an hour ago. Yes, I am aware that the water could probably choke me to death. But my brain cells didn’t want to co-operate and I did it anyway. Clever huh?!

Well, come to think of it, I’ve actually done some pretty idiotic things back in my days. All subconsciously. On the top of my mind, here are some examples:

Touched the knife edge with my fingers. Just like a reflex, I used my fingers to touch the sharp end of the knife. For what? I’m not sure.

Bare-handedly hung on to a falling sharp object, be it a knife, blade or scissors.

Banged the nail with my fist, knowing full well that it will bleed. (Mind you it’s not out of anger, just wanted the nail to go in! Yes, I thought it’d work.)

Walked right into a glass door. (multiple times)

Make one wonders what type of person I am. ;P There must be a lot of air in my subconscious.

This is the all new commercial of the soon-to-be-opened 6 star casino hotel, Crown Macau. Featuring the one-and-only every-so-coolly Chow Yun Fat. Also starring the third runner up in the 1st season of America’s Next Top Model, Eleyse Sewell.Apparently, the commercial created waves of controversy in Asia, especially China and Hong Kong, with some questioning Chow’s choice of the job and criticizing him for promoting gambling. And these are the same people who sneered at his decision to enter the world of Hollywood stardom (Well, that’s a whole other story). I guess the whole hoopla started due to one reason. According to the press, Chow was paid 25 million HKD for the job.

Now, we all know Chow is famous for his classic role as the seasoned gambler in the God of Gamblers movies. So it is natural and perfectly suitable for him to take on the role of a classy gambler in the commercial. I really don’t see what the problem is here, except there’s a bunch of goody-goody trying to act as the moral police. It’s not as if he’s asking people ‘come come come, gambling is good for you’. The business is already there, approved and built. I don’t see them criticizing the Macau authority for approving such an establishment or any other casino for that matter. The only obvious reason is that the green-eyed monsters in them cannot stand it.

Period. What a bunch of bollocks!
